The needs of my clients vary. Some are beginners and want to learn the basics. Some are avid family tree builders and have a "brick wall" to resolve before going further. Family Tree Building
Many studies suggest that children and adults are better psychologically prepared for life when they know the history of their family.
A child may be facing a problem and if he learns that his grandparent faced something similar and successfully overcame it, he can acquire the
confidence that he too can overcome.
Or maybe you enjoy your family reunions but would like something really meaningful to share with them the next time you have a reunion. Maybe you’d like to know if some of those family
stories are really true!
A multi generational family tree can be fun, fascinating, and valuable. I would be happy to assist you in building that tree or build one for you.
Unknown Parentage Research
Consider these scenarios:
Your mother abandoned the family leaving several small children and a bewildered husband during World War II?
You’ve never heard from her since. What happened to her?
Where did she go? Did she have another family?
You were adopted as an infant.
You have little or no information regarding your biological
parents. Who were they?
Did they have other children so that you have siblings?
Shortly before her death your mother claims to have had an affair. She says the only father you ever knew is not your biological father. Is it true? Or is her dementia playing games on her
mind? Who was your biological father?

Genetic knowledge isn't all that goes into matters of family history. For most of us, we're talking about the lives of our loved ones. Their background, no matter how eye-opening, must be approached with sensitivity and respect.

DNA Results Analysis
So you’ve received your DNA test results. Now what!?
Well, that depends on your objective.
Do you want to identify some of your close relatives because that sounds like fun? Or do you have a more serious objective such as finding an unknown parent or grandparent?
Be aware that there may be some surprises in your results. Are you prepared for that? Often there are unexpected events that took place. There may have been such things such as adoption, a sperm donor, infidelity, or other circumstances. Finding out about these circumstances can be
traumatic.
I've assisted many clients on the use of this newly found information and the use of it in finding relatives. I've also assisted them with the sensitive side of this information, advising them on recommended ways to approach these matters with family members.

I so enjoy the opportunity to share my knowledge and passion for genealogy. My public speaking experiences span 55 years, with audiences of 10 to 10,000.
I currently instruct a beginner and advanced program on the use of DNA in family history research. I am well qualified to speak at genealogical societies, libraries, and other similar forums.
I'm available for in-person presentations in the Denver, Colorado area as well as for Zoom presentations outside the immediate area.
I'm can customize a presentation for your group on most areas of traditional and genetic genealogy.
One-on-One Instruction
I began working with computers in high school before the invention of PCs. Over the years, I've taught word processing, accounting, database management and a host of other
types of software to clients.
My many years of computer experience include
the use of many genealogy sites and software.
From the ever-evolving Ancestry.com, FamilySearch.org and MyHeritage.com to Family Tree DNA, Find-My-Past and Gedmatch.com, the choices can be overwhelming, but here's where I can help!
